Next February 4th marks World Cancer Day, an event aimed at raising awareness and mobilizing society to advance in the prevention and control of this disease.
The Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), of which the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) is a part, dedicates the day to dispelling false myths and erroneous conceptions that still exist around cancer. Thus, it calls for commitment to reduce the impact of these diseases on the population, through prevention measures, early detection, and access to effective treatments and care.
Cancer is one of the leading causes of death in Spain. One in three men and one in four women will be diagnosed with cancer during their lifetime. Approximately 40% of cancers can be prevented.
At ISEP, we offer the postgraduate program in Psycho-oncology, which focuses on the psychological treatment of cancer. In this sense, psycho-oncological care aims to provide emotional support and quality of life to cancer patients and their families.
