ISEP Clínic arrives in the city of Tarragona. The new center, which opens this Friday, November 19, is located at Rambla Vella 22-24 and will be directed by Òscar Asorey, also director of ISEP Clínic Reus and coordinator of ISEP Formación’s Master’s in Clinical and Health Psychology. Thus, both centers will form a duo to provide assistance services throughout the province of Tarragona.
We spoke with Asorey about the advantages for a psychology professional of having their own clinical care center.
How did you learn about the possibility of opening an ISEP Clínic franchise?
I had the opportunity to enter the world of Clinical Psychology after completing master’s studies at ISEP Formación. The high quality of the preparation obtained with this type of postgraduate course encouraged me to start clinical activity. It coincided that at that very moment ISEP was launching a franchise service offer for psychology centers under the know-how of ISEP Formación. It was then that I valued the opportunity to associate with an institution that offered me guarantees due to its long history in the field of clinical psychology, pedagogy, and speech therapy.
It’s been almost ten years since you opened your first ISEP Clínic in Reus, and now you’re opening a new center in Tarragona. What’s the secret to your success?
The success has been based on a series of variables that together have allowed us to create a multidisciplinary center that currently handles more than 5,000 annual visits. Among these variables, the one I believe is most important is the know-how of an excellent team of professionals who work with enthusiasm to address the needs of each of our patients with seriousness and rigor. Our team of professionals has proven experience and training, so we achieve a high level of success for each client.
What are the benefits of having two centers in the same province?
The idea of creating a center in Tarragona arose from the philosophy we maintain at ISEP Reus of providing our best customer service. That is why we believe that for many of our patients, considering their place of origin, it would be more convenient to have a care center closer to their place of residence. On the other hand, we believe it is important to locate a center in the capital of the province of Tarragona as it allows for improved synergies not only with ISEP Reus but also with professionals (family doctors, psychiatrists…) who can recommend our services.
What will be the specialty of your new center in Tarragona?
There are three new customer service departments that I would highlight: first, the Addiction Care Department; second, the Grief Process Care Department; and third, the Group Therapies Department.
What are the advantages for a psychology professional of having their own center?
Although psychology, psychopedagogy, and speech therapy professionals generally have common training, opening one’s own center allows for creating a service for the client maximally adapted to the professional’s profile. This way, high-quality care for the patient is guaranteed, as the professional can equip their center with the best and most efficient lines of psychological care for which they have been trained.
