On September 9 and 13, 2014, ISEP will participate in the IX Ibero-American Congress of Psychology in Lisbon (Portugal), a meeting organized by the Ordem dos Psicólogos Portugueses, under the auspices of the Ibero-American Federation of Psychology Associations (FIAP) and held in conjunction with the II National Congress of the Ordem dos psicólogos portugueses. This ninth edition has the motto “We are present and have solutions” and aims to become a point of encounter for psychologists from all over Ibero-America to share the latest scientific developments and advances in the profession in the different fields and specialties of the discipline, as well as to affirm the presence of psychology in the Ibero-American space. The Institute will offer a presentation within the program of activities, among other prominent conferences, symposiums, round tables, etc. The participation of internationally renowned psychologists stands out, such as Dr. Judy Kuriansky, who has provided psychological first aid after attacks in Jerusalem, September 11th in the USA, and the tsunami in Asia. She is also a representative of the United Nations for the International Association of Applied Psychology and the World Council for Psychotherapy. Or José María Peiró, professor of organizational psychology and president of Division 1 of the International Association of Work and Organizational Psychology, who will be one of the most renowned Spanish speakers present at the Congress.
Also participating will be Regina Brandao, a sports psychologist who recently accompanied the Brazilian national team to the semifinals. Since 2002, she has collaborated with her country’s national team, the year they won their fifth World Cup. Involved in sports since 1989, she is currently one of the most influential professionals in psychological evaluation and counseling for young athletes. Her experience in football includes evaluating more than 1,000 of the best players in Brazil and the world.
One more year, the Congress aims to offer an updated vision of the latest advances in the different areas of the discipline and an approach to the most prominent current trends such as coaching or psychotherapy aimed at emotional well-being.
