The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, NICE, has published a new clinical practice guideline on domestic violence and abuse for professionals who must receive specific training in gender-based violence and be able to recognize the signs of violence and ensure that women receive appropriate support and help.
As a new feature, this guide includes for the first time a comprehensive review of all scientific evidence surrounding gender-based violence and emphasizes the importance of specialized training for professionals who assist this group.
NICE points out that gender-based violence is too frequent a problem not to be included in the basic training of undergraduate health professionals today, and insists on the need for a global approach to these victims.
