The healthcare sector is characterized by its great complexity, common in any organization but greater and more complicated when dealing with one of the issues that most concern people: their health. In addition to the technical aspects, typical of large organizations, there is the subjectivity of people with health problems and their worried family members.
Healthcare professionals are subjected to a lot of pressure given the delicacy and importance of their activity. Lack of motivation and ignorance of patients’ emotional world, coupled with the high impact of stress or Burnout syndrome on their work, poison the capacity of doctors, nurses, and assistants.
Currently, there is a need to reflect on the healthcare sector’s capacity for improvement, beyond incorporating better resources and facilities. Probably one of the most notable deficiencies in this sector is the lack of interest shown by institutions, both public and private, in the human training of professionals. The application of coaching to the healthcare field provides an opportunity to intervene on the development potential of the people who comprise it, both at an organizational and personal level. It not only allows for strengthening the leadership capacity of healthcare professionals who go on to perform management functions in a healthcare organization but also improves the health of any worker and their interaction with the user.
ISEP is aware of this need for a change in the care model, where interpersonal relationships among professionals gain special relevance and where personal and professional management is essential. In this context, ISEP conceives healthcare coaching as the primary figure in achieving these new challenges. ISEP’s Master in Healthcare Coaching is committed to enhancing the development capacity that individuals and organizations (hospital, clinic, health center) currently possess, as well as the development of transversal skills for healthcare professionals so they can better understand their colleagues and patients and act accordingly. Incorporating values such as motivation, self-esteem, gaining confidence, and providing tools that improve behavioral change processes and habits in the health field are necessary to build a healthy doctor-patient-family-colleague relationship.
