The Thesis Corner at ISEP continues to grow and now incorporates a new work titled Alexithymia. Its author, Oihana Ormaetxea, aims with this thesis to discuss the inability to express feelings that some individuals suffer from. To do so, she focuses on alexithymia, which literally means ‘lack of words for affections’. The work attempts to delve into the existing theoretical construct surrounding this disorder because, despite its relevance in the field of psychology due to its implications for both psychological and physical health, it has been relatively little studied.
Ormaetxea has completed ISEP’s Master’s in Clinical and Health Psychology and this work is the last challenge she had to overcome to obtain her degree. And she has successfully overcome it.
