Interview with Raimon Gaja, Director of ISEP and editor of ISEP Science magazine.
ISEP Science magazine is an initiative of the Superior Institute of Psychological Studies (ISEP), an educational institution with a presence, for thirty years, in countries in Europe and Latin America. With this publication, ISEP wishes to demonstrate its commitment to science and contribute to it.
The scientific journal ISEP Science has been born. Where did the idea come from?
ISEP has always made a firm commitment to the dissemination of scientific knowledge, as we believe it is essential to improve and complete the professional profile of our students. However, the idea itself, of making this commitment to science openly tangible, came about approximately 3 years ago.
What happened?
It wasn’t a concrete and specific event, but at that time we realized that the scientific level of our students, not only recent graduates but also active professionals who came to ISEP to specialize in a specific area, was truly remarkable. Faced with this evidence, at ISEP we decided that our students deserved to have a platform where they could not only nourish their scientific knowledge needs but also reflect and share their own research with the rest of the community. It was our responsibility to provide it, and so we have done.
From the moment the idea was born until today, when ISEP Science is finally a reality, three years have passed, but it is an ambitious scientific project in which a series of favorable circumstances had to converge.
How would you define ISEP Science?
A publication born with the aim of helping to grow the scientific knowledge of Spanish-speaking psychologists, speech therapists, and psychopedagogues.
What material will we find in the magazine?
The latest and most innovative work methodologies in the field of psychological and educational intervention.
We wish to provide students and professionals with varied and reference information on developments in their scientific fields, and, in this way, promote dynamism and interaction with the psychological community.
Who will publish in it?
In our publication, prominent members of the psychological and educational community from Europe and Latin America will find a platform to present their research essays and to disseminate their experiences and conclusions among their professional colleagues.
For example, the collaborators who participated in the first issue are prominent professionals in psychology, speech therapy, and psychopedagogy from Spain.
Can any professional publish in ISEP Science?
We have a highly qualified scientific committee that receives the work of all professionals who wish to publish and decides which articles are published under rigorous quality standards.
For any author, the dissemination of their studies is beneficial, and ISEP Science offers them the opportunity to do so.
Where will we find ISEP Science?
We will find printed copies in the libraries of psychology and speech therapy faculties of all Spanish universities as reference material and, in addition, it will be offered online, in interactive .pdf format, through its website www.isepscience.com.
The publication also offers the possibility to subscribe and receive a printed copy at home to expand personal libraries.
